Overview
CORONA Admin Unofficial Design System
The Unofficial CORONA Admin Design System is a Figma-based design resource that reimagines the popular BootstrapDash CORONA Admin template into a structured, reusable design system. It’s publicly available on Figma Community for designers and developers who need a clean, componentized version of the UI for faster prototyping and handoff.
This Design system was built using atomic design principles and has captured most of the components.
Background
A few years ago, I worked on a client project that used CORONA Admin as the front-end framework. As the designer on the team, I struggled to find a ready-made design kit or UI library to match the codebase. Without a proper Figma resource, maintaining visual consistency and speed across screens was challenging.
To solve this, I started creating my own UI kit from scratch — building reusable components, color styles, and typography tokens that accurately matched the original BootstrapDash design.
Goal
My main goal was to create a Figma-native design system that:
  • Mirrors the CORONA Admin UI accurately.
  • Enables designers to quickly mock up dashboards and interfaces.
  • Promotes consistency in design-to-development handoff.
  • Is free and open for anyone to use.
Outcome
The final design system includes:
  • 50+ reusable Figma components
  • Organized style tokens for colors, typography, and spacing
  • Ready-to-use layouts and UI patterns
  • Compatibility with the original BootstrapDash codebase
It has since been downloaded and duplicated by designers who use CORONA Admin as a foundation for their dashboard projects.

Reflection
Creating this design system taught me the importance of structure and documentation in UI design. It also reinforced how valuable community-driven tools can be, transforming a personal solution into a shared public resource. I plan to continue improving it with variable support and updated components.
